3 foot asteroid burns up over Philippines says scientist

Asteroid: Asteroids continue to come close to Earth. Scientists and space agencies around the world keep an eye on them, despite this, a rocky disaster reached Earth on Wednesday. According to reports, a small asteroid collided with Earth’s atmosphere, crashed and burned. However, there is no news of any damage due to it. Scientists came to know about the asteroid shortly before it reached Earth. It was a matter of relief that the size of the asteroid was small, otherwise it could have caused damage by falling in a populated area.

of the European Space Agency (ESA) Tell It is said that on Wednesday, September 4, an asteroid of 3 feet (about 1 meter) size hit the atmosphere over the western Pacific Ocean near Luzon Island in the Philippines. As soon as it hit, the asteroid caught fire and burned. There was no damage on Earth due to it.

The asteroid that will hit the Earth has been named ‘2024 RW1’. It was discovered by scientist Jacqueline Fazekas with the help of Catalina Sky Survey. According to the report, this is the ninth asteroid so far that was tracked just before hitting the Earth.

Nasa’s asteroid tracking website predicted that a fireball caused by the asteroid could be visible from the east coast of the Philippines. Several videos are being posted on social media, showing a green fireball.

What is Asteroid

According to NASA, these are also called minor planets. Just like all the planets in our solar system revolve around the Sun, asteroids also revolve around the Sun. Asteroids are rocky remnants left over from the initial formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. Scientists have so far discovered 11 lakh 13 thousand 527 asteroids. Most asteroids are found in a main asteroid belt, which is between Mars and Jupiter. Their size can range from 10 meters to 530 kilometers. The total mass of all the asteroids discovered so far is less than the Earth’s moon.
