Ola to Use its Battery in New Electric Motorcycle, Will Provide Better Range
Recently, the company’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal posted a picture of the test ride of the upcoming electric motorcycle on social media. However, the motorcycle was not clearly shown in it. Earlier, Aggarwal had indicated that this electric motorcycle will have the largest battery in this category. This can also increase its range. The battery developed by Ola Electric will be used in this motorcycle. The company has set up a factory to manufacture battery cells in Tamil Nadu.
Ola Electric sells the S1X, S1 Air and S1 Pro electric scooters. It is not known whether its electric motorcycle will be sold this year or not. This motorcycle of Ola Electric will compete with other electric bikes. Based on its pricing, it can compete with the Tork Kratos R and Revolt RV400. In a teaser shared on the social media platform X, this electric motorcycle is seen with a dual-pod LED headlamp. It has slim turn indicators on the front and back like KTM. Ola Electric has intensified its efforts to develop solid-state batteries for its electric scooters. Its battery cells can also be used in the company’s electric scooters from the beginning of next year.
Ola Electric’s sales grew by about 57 percent in the first quarter of the current financial year. The company’s sales in the first half of this calendar year have been more than two lakh units. It has become the first electric two-wheeler company to reach this figure in such a short period. Last month, the company updated its S1 X electric scooter with new features. These features include Find My Scooter and Vacation Mode. This electric scooter will not have to be taken to the service center for software updates. Vacation mode is activated when the electric scooter is not used for a long period.
