Redmi K80 Pro to get ultrasonic in display fingerprint sensor know details

Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Redmi K80 series of smartphones for the Chinese market in November. The lineup is expected to include at least 3 smartphones such as Redmi K80e, Redmi K80, and Redmi K80 Pro. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station tips the fingerprint scanning technology that will be available on the Redmi K80 series. Let’s take a closer look at the Redmi K80 series.

Tipster Digital Chat Station The tipster has not revealed the name of the smartphone he is talking about in the screenshot. The tipster says that ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors are still mostly exclusive to high-end flagship models. For sub-brands, only the high-end versions with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset will get the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The lower-end variants will only have optical in-screen fingerprint sensors with a shorter focus range, which will result in a very different user experience.

Previous reports suggest that the entire Xiaomi 15 series, which includes Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, and 15 Ultra, will be equipped with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. Let us tell you that last year the Xiaomi 14 series had optical in-screen fingerprint sensors. Based on the leak, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will introduce an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor on the Redmi K80 Pro. The Redmi K80, on the other hand, may come with an optical in-screen fingerprint reader.

Talking about the specifications, Redmi K80 can get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and K80 Pro can get Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The OLED panels of both smartphones can support 1.5K and 2K resolution. A recent report has revealed that both smartphones can get a 6,000mAh battery. There is a possibility that Redmi K80 and K80 Pro can be rebranded as Poco F7 and F7 Pro in the global market next year.
