Ather Energy Starts Business in Sri Lanka, Its Second International Market
According to a media report, Evolution Auto will be the distributor of Ather Energy in Sri Lanka. Sales It will also handle the service along with the service. To increase the reach of electric vehicles in Sri Lanka, Ather Energy also plans to start a fast charging network. The company said, “We are excited to start business in the Sri Lankan market. This is part of our international business after Nepal. There is a growing interest in EVs in Sri Lanka. Ather electric scooters are known for their performance, design and reliability.”
Since opening its first international outlet in Nepal last year, Ather Energy has started three experience centers and seven fast charging grids there. The company has more than 200 experience centers in India. At the end of last year, Ather Energy achieved the manufacturing figure of two lakh electric scooters. The company’s factory is in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The company competes with Ola Electric in this segment. Hero MotoCorp has invested in Ather Energy.
Ather Energy has four electric scooters 450S, 450X, 450 Apex and Rizta. EV sales are growing rapidly in the country and electric two-wheelers have a major contribution in this. Last year, the company introduced upgrades for its electric scooters. These included AtherStack 5.0 software, which is the company’s biggest software upgrade. It is claimed that AtherStack 5.0 will also improve the performance of the electric scooter as it helps in extracting maximum torque from the scooter for a long time without derating. Recently, the company launched the family scooter Rizta. This electric scooter has two variants – Rizta S and Rizta Z. It has a longer and wider seat than other electric scooters. Rizta S gets a 2.9 kWh battery. Its range is around 105 km.
