Apple Cuts Jobs in Online Services Group before Launching New iPhone Series Next Month
Bloomberg’s report quoted sources with knowledge of the matter as saying that Company has informed the affected workers working in various teams in Senior Vice President Eddy Cue’s Services Group. Earlier this year, Apple shut down its self-driving car project and laid off hundreds of workers. The priority of Apple Books has decreased for the company. However, some new features can be added to Apple’s Books app. In recent years, services related business has been a major source of growth for Apple. In the last financial year, the share of this business in the company’s total sales was more than 22 percent.
The workers who are being laid off have been told that they will have 60 days to find another job at Apple. In the last few months, many American tech companies have laid off a large number of workers. The main reasons behind this are the increased use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and lack of growth.
Apple’s new iPhone series will be launched on September 9. New Apple Watch and AirPods can also be brought with it. Apple has given the tagline ‘It’s Glotime’ to the launch event, which may be an indication of Apple Intelligence features. The event will be held at the company’s Steve Jobs Theater in the US. It will be live-streamed on YouTube. Apple may also give information about the release date of iOS 18 and other software updates. The company’s new smartphone series may include iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. A new capture button can be found in these smartphones. iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may have a triple rear camera unit. It can have a wide camera, ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera.
