Abu Dhabi based Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology company G42 has introduced a Large Language Model (LLM) in Hindi for India. G42 is supported by tech giant Microsoft. The company has named its Hindi LLM model Nanda. It is claimed that this AI model has been trained to answer in languages ​​like Hindi, English and Hinglish. This generative model was developed in collaboration with MBZUAI and Cerebras Systems. The company has not yet disclosed where its LLM will be used. Last year, the company introduced the Jais AI model, which is trained in Arabic and English languages.

The biggest example of LLM i.e. Large Language Model is ChatGPT. However, it is also available in the form of an app. In what form will Nanda come and what will be its use case? It is not known yet.

This LLM model was unveiled in the presence of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Union Minister Piyush Goyal during the UAE-India Business Forum in Mumbai. The model is named after India’s second highest mountain peak Nanda Devi.

Manu Kumar Jain also talked about some features of the LLM model. According to his post, Nanda is a 13 billion parameter model. It has been trended on 2.13 trillion tokens including Hindi, English and Hinglish. He told that Nanda is a bi-lingual model. It is also an expert in Hinglish.

The company has not yet said when the Nanda AI model will be released. It is also not known whether Nanda will come into the public domain or it has been prepared for government use. Manu Jain said that Nanda can meet all the needs related to India. It will give more than 50 crore Hindi language speakers an opportunity to use the power of generative AI.

Last year, the company launched Jais AI. It is an open-source Arabic LLM. The company is also supported by Microsoft. In April, Microsoft invested $1.5 billion (about Rs 12,600 crore) in G42. Microsoft has also been given a seat on the board of G42.
