Competition Commission of India Recalls Reports Linked to Antitrust Investigation of Apple

A source familiar with the matter said that the company is concerned about the disclosure of its App Store revenue and market share figures in the country. Reuters reported in July that two reports submitted by the CCI’s investigation unit in 2022 and 2024 found that Apple had abused its dominant position in the market for app stores on its iOS operating system.
The firms that CCI has asked to return the report include Match, which runs dating app Tinder, and ADIF, a startup group representing financial services giant Paytm. Apple and Match declined to comment on the matter. CCI and ADIF did not respond to requests for comment. Apple had said in its complaint to CCI that the report shared with its rivals in this matter had revealed confidential information related to the company’s business. Along with this, the company had said that CCI should recall this report.
