Tamil actor-director Ji Mari Muthu, last seen in Rajinikanth’s film “Jailer,” has passed away at the age of 57. The South Indian Artists Association stated that Mari Muthu’s death occurred on Friday due to a cardiac arrest. Allegedly, he faced discomfort during dubbing for a Tamil TV serial and was rushed to the hospital.

Mari Muthu had recently started acting again, and she appeared in a number of movies and TV shows. The 57-year-old actor received condolences from the Tamil cinema industry when word of his passing spread.

Rajinikanth, a superstar, too paid respect to the late actor. He said in Tamil on Twitter, “Mari Muthu was a lovely person. I’ve been shocked by his passing. My sincere condolences go out to his bereaved family.

Ji Mari Muthu reportedly collapsed around 8:30 AM on Friday while dubbing for his TV serial in Chennai. He received prompt medical attention at a nearby medical facility, but despite all efforts, he was declared deceased. Noted public relations professional Johnson, who works in the South Indian film industry, tweeted, “Shocking… director-actor Mari Muthu passed away this morning at 8.30 AM due to cardiac arrest. Rest in peace, Mari Muthu.” In another tweet, he confirmed, “It has been confirmed that actor Mari Muthu (58), who was dubbing for the Ethir Neechal serial this morning, suddenly lost consciousness and was taken to nearby Surya Hospital, where he passed away due to chest pain…”
